Aren't babies supposed to love riding in their slings?
My 3 week old hates hers! She cooperates with riding in it every so often when she's pretty much already asleep, but hates being in it when she's awake. I'm so bummed, I was really looking forward to wearing her (my next oldest are twins, so we really couldn't do very much babywearing).

She does like to be held plenty, which is good, but leaves me with one or less free hands. LOL. Is it possible she's too hot riding in the sling? It's August in Iowa (read: very humid) and I'm pretty warm blooded.

Any tips to help her like riding in her sling better?

She might not like the carry she is in. Kyra only likes her mei tai tummy to tummy thus far, because she wants to be upright and secure at the same time. Pouches have not gone well so far, but we're going to try again now that her head control is improving.

That could be. Our sling is a nojo babysling, which basically works like an over the shoulder pouch.

She just might need some time. Short, frequent rides, esp. when she's tired, might help her get used to it.

Keep trying every so often and experiment with different positions and adjustments. My daughter would fuss the first few weeks as well. I'd say since about 4-5 weeks, she's liked it much better. She still doesn't tolerate being awake for chores except for vacuuming though.

I would say it's the way you're carrying her. Donovan hated cradle carry, but loves tummy-to-tummy in an upright position. I used part of the sling's fold to support his head while it was floppy.

What kind of sling do you have? I'm beginning to think mines a bit limited as I wouldn't be able to position Ivy that way. Mine is also huge and she gets lost in it :( Its a Nature's Sway one.

I use a Hotsling. Very versatile!

How do you do tummy-to-tummy? I have a Hotsling, too, and I think Roman would really like that carry.

I put him into the sling facing me, with his feet curled under him, with him sitting upright. Then I lean him a bit towards the shoulder part of the sling so his head is supported. I'll try and get good pics.

Hmm, I'll try and figure it out... thanks :)

My little guy hates my Ultimate Baby Wrap so far and I wind up stripping it off of me and leaving it on the floor.

I'm going to try again when he's bigger and maybe try some other sling like a ring sling
